Somewhere between the comic book world and pop illustration lies the works of Tara McPherson.  Needless to say, I am impressed.   The thing I like best about Tara's artwork is the stylization of her characters.  The full featured faces and smooth lines give a nicely polished, solid feel to each illustration.  Be sure to check out the great illustrations Tara created for musicians such as Beck, Mastodon, and The Melvins.

When I created this site, my first blog post was a tribute to Audrey Kawasaki.  The other day, my friend was showing me the new issue of Juxtapoz magazine when I noticed that they were featuring new work from Audrey.  I raced over to her site, and saw what could be her greatest body of work to date.  Please drop by and experience one of the finest artists on this blog.

As you can see I've been watching a lot of photographers lately.  I was viewing the photography portfolio of Christian Staebler as I wandered off into a section on his website entitled "scans".  I must say that Christian has taken the art of pressing flowers to a beautiful new dimension.  The introduction of this typically crafty art form into the digital realm has truly enfused the method with a fine art soul.

Creative composition is a key element in good photography.  Chema Madoz manages to take composition to a new level, almost flooding the senses with abstracted visions.  Each picture seems to pull you out of your life, and literally forces you to take a closer look at the images, and ultimately, the world around you.  See for yourself.

I stumbled upon a site today called www.tinymusicbox.com showcasing the artwork of Aaron Grayum.  I love the simplicity in the paintings.   Intrigue stems from the perfect layout and proportions of the rather simple elements.  Visit the site and form an opinion for yourself.

in a perfect world.  I went to Mike's website and
found that he is not only a terrific illustrator, but
a great painter as well.  Drop by and check him

This fellow Nikonian is putting his equipment to the best use.  I've been admiring his photography for quite a while now.  The composition and exposure of these photographs are second to few.  I hope you enjoy his work.
